SUMP PUMP INSTALLATION AND SERVICES

Sump Pump Installation and Sump Pump Services basics.

Imagine a heavy rain downpour and now imagine your house or business are located above sea level elevation. Now since you are on a lower elevation that water needs to go somewhere, and where does it go? Into your basement or home since that is the lowest elevation point. Since not all homes or business are build on equal shares of land, some being on higher and some being on lower elevations something had to be done. And this is why we have Sump Pump's. Sump Pump is a relatively basic device, it's simply is a water pump that removes excess water when it detects the water level rising.

The main objective of sump pump is to collect ground water that would have otherwise been inside your basement, and to remove this water in a safe manner away from your home or business. Ones the sump pump detects that the water is rising it gets busy. Ones the sump pump gets busy it starts to pump out the excess water very far away from the location, most of the time to the city sewage line or other places as long as they are far away from your home or business.

Learn more about Sump Pump

We should note that a Sump Pump are electrical devices in nature and require uninterrupted power supply in order to function. Sometimes power failures occur, and at times they occur during very bad timing. OnJuly 8th, 2013Toronto and the Greater Toronto Areas were hit by flash flooding. This lead to loss of power all over the place and many frantic calls about sump pump failing.

Because of power being such a major key point to success or failure of the sump pump main function "to remove water", we always recommend to our customers to look into water powered sump pumps, alternatively you can consider having some sort of expandable electrical backup like a battery, but they will not last more then 3-5 hours at max.

But you are not alone, many people have been faced with ground waters and below sea level elevation that few municipalities offer a subsidy program. You can get 80%rebate from the City of Toronto when you get a sump pump installed that is $1,750 (CAD) dollars that the city will rebate back. You may also want to look into getting a Backwater Valve installed along with Sump Pump, as you can claim up-to 80% on each. That is a total rebate value of $3,000 (CAD) dollars from the City of Toronto ($1,250 dollars for the Backwater Valve and $1,750 for Sump Pump). If you live in Peel Region you can only get $700dollars worth of rebate on Backwater Valve installation only, and this is only until Dec 31st, 2015.

If your municipality was not listed in regards to sump pump or backwater valve rebate subsidy program we advice you contact your municipality and check if they have a subsidy program and what is the rebate sum.
